Hi montacute! I believe that they are Space Violets if they are in 6 inch pots. I don't think Optimara sells any other varieties in 6 inch pots. Here is a link to the Space Violet varieties so you can identify the varieties you got: Space Violets.

I've gotten Optimara Violets in 6" pots ... which were not Space Violets.

The Space Violets have tell-tale very ruffled leaves and flowers ...

I just bought a six inch Optimara that looks like it is probably Texas. They had Everbeautiful and Everlove in six inch pots too, but several others that were clearly regular Optimaras, not Space Violets.

You are good if you can tell it's Texas!

I just got a space violet "plug" of Everbeautiful from S.G. It already is large and covered with bloom and buds and in an actual pot. It is a faded-looking, drab, dusty dark purple color with white geneva edge. Hopefully, the color will improve.

I did not realize the double-meaning of "space" -- that means this will grow large!

I was wondering if Optimara EverLove might look a little like Firebird I?

Joanne, I got a couple of Space violets from SG around the first of this month, September. EverSpecial, in a 4" pot, arrived as an already big plant with a few flowers and lots of buds on at least six long stems. (And considerable damage to leaves, but it still had plenty to spare.) But like yours, the flowers were kind of ugly and drab, and after about four weeks of the buds not opening I went ahead and removed all the flower stems except those that were very small and still hiding well below the leaves. It is annoying me far less now, ha ha! It looks healthier, and I don't mind waiting for the newer flowers to come up. Well, of course I do mind, but having something to look forward to is all right too, and hopefully they'll be happier.
