Tecoma x alata 'Orange Jubilee'. I suspect the juniper is a predictive text cock up.

Ft. Worth, Texas area. I kept plant in garage during coldest days of winter. The new growth looked good until recently and has now turned black and dead. We have had lots of rain but the lot drains freely. Should I found plant back and hope for healthy new growth?

I believe the plant in question is the vine Tecoma stans 'Orange Jubilee', commonly called esperanza.

It should be fully hardy in the DFW area but can die back to the ground in colder winters. Even if it doesn't, it is recommended to cut back to around 3" each year to make the vine fuller and bushier. It will regrow rapidly.
