Happy Easter !!!

Happy Easter everyone!

We are pretty much in total lock down here in NJ. Except for Food Stores and pharmacies, everything else is shut down. The Gov. even closed all the parks this week.

Anyway, wherever you are, stay safe and take this seriously. It's bad here.

The good news ....... hostas are erupting, and it's getting warm enough to be outside most of the day. I'm at the point where I'm pretty much watching them grow!!! (They don't seem to mind)

A few of the early risers.....

Fragrant Bouquet

Ivory Coast 4-12-20

Kinba 4-12-20.....you can get a good look at the red legs

Liberty 4-12-20

Marrakech 4-12-20......always the earliest (with montana A)

Mine have been in slow motion since the last warm spell, but I'm getting excited over tall pips and things just leafing out and then I see this. Thanks alot. J/K.

Same lock down conditions here mbug. It is bad, stay safe.

No surprise your specimens look marvelous! They are not like a watched kettle. Once they get going I believe you could watch them grow! I will have to wait for my fun since there is not a pip in sight.

So true nw. It is the only saving grace. There are plenty of other perennials up and at it for me to marvel at. The plants emerging in spring is always a joy for me. I am like a kid in a candy store!

nw I hope yours are okay in the snow tomorrow. Will you cover some?

peren..I'm frustrated thinking about covers..I have so many plants and they're close together..if we have snow wouldn't the weight on a sheet smash the plants more than a natural snowfall?..one good thing..the forecast a few days ago had a low of 27°F (-2.778°C) but now it's 30°F (-1.111°C) with light snow and rain..it makes me feel better..wish me luck..

Wow mbug, your hostas are looking great! I didn't realize NJ was that much ahead of MI. Is it the ocean effect? I'm still waiting for some leaves and some not even breaking ground yet. Thanks for the pics and a ray of hope for me.

They will be back for all of us soon. Fun time...some are out and unfurling, some just pips, and still waiting for a few to emerge ( I hope).

I do wish you good luck nw! If you do cover with sheeting prop it up on sticks, stakes, chairs, pots....whatever is easiest and available. We had about an inch of snow last night and the same in the last 3 out of 5 nights. I expect it to melt as it did before.

Yes mbug sooner or later for all of us.
