Look at some light gray tiles. I used this tile for my kitchen remodel. It beautiful. The color has slight variations. It is hand made in New York state.

Mine is a gray green subway tile with a light charcoal pencil tile.

I think white is a good choice -- you're already pairing the white/gray with the creamy brown, so I wouldn't try to find yet another neutral that might or might not work. The sample you're showing standing on your counter adds a little textural interest without being too busy. Go for it!

Have you considered the counter top material behind the range and perhaps a lower backsplash/or below shelves?

Yes.... thought about countertop going behind stove. Might be too much though...

Glass tile? Comes in many different styles and colors that would help blend the cabinet .

Your counters are the star here. They are pretty with heavy veining so I'd keep the backsplash simple and clean. No patterned tile, nothing fancy, no busy patterns or texture. I think you'd be best with a simple plain subway tile in a white or gray that blends the cabinets and counters.

i agree with Design Girl, keep the tile simple but you can do color is you like. using blue to tie in your island. . if u go white, make sure its the same shade as your counter.

using the counter as B/S on cooktop wall would look fab. i am a big fan of that., no grout lines to keep clean. we did it with our granite and it was a one of the best decisions that we made. then a plain tile on sink wall or continue with counter material up to shelf height.

For a counter with a lot of movement, I would use a simple solid (probably subway) tile which matches a light color in the counter material. It’s easy to find in many colors.

A crackled subway with grey grout is another idea.

I agree with @Design Girl. Simple is best with your stunning counters! I would not recommend glass or crackle. Just a basic subway tile trying to marry all the colors together. Please let us know what you choose! Your kitchen is gorgeous!

If going with the glass, the lighter one is much better. However, I'd do a regular ceramic tile rather than glass. Glass is harder to clean and is on the way out now (at least outside NYC where I live).

Your countertop has so much movement in it you do not want to compete with that in your pretty kitchen by installing a busy -( too much colour, movement ) - backsplash. Simple is better. Suggestion of white crackled subway tile with grey grout provides a simple, elegant and practical way to finish kitchen. good Luck. 😌
