Clematis on the Web is the only site I know of that even remotely resembles what you are looking for. It has both a text and photo search feature but doesn't quite hit all your criteria......but most of it :-)

Diane, Clematis on the Web is without a doubt the best option available. Did you find the search page? I have found it to be as sophisticated as any other plant database search engine I know, and better than most. You can search by any or all of your criteria as well as many other criteria such as name or breeder. The only clunky thing I have found is that with a name you can’t have spaces, so you have to just have one word or part of a word in a multi word name. But for Ville de Lyon, you can put in “Ville” or “Lyon” and get connected to the right plant.

What caused you issues?

What is often not realised I think is that the HelpMeFind Roses site also has a comprehensive Clematis database which fulfils all the requirements the member has asked for.... they do Peonies too..

Most people looking for a clematis would probably find the one they want here.. you can also do a search... advanced search is for paid membership but you probably wouldn't need that..

Thank you Marlorena for this link, it's a great resource! Unfortunately, as a non-member you can only search by 1 criteria. Strangely, height isn't listed as one of the search criteria, but it is the most comprehensive database I've seen and will be very helpful in other ways.
