white cabinets

Recently had new counter tops installed. We originally wanted white cabinets. SW Alabaster or Cotton white. But I just don’t know what will look great. We’re also changing the floor to a white marble vinyl color and adding stainless steal appliances. The picture below is the current yellowish cabinet color and the other picture is with the floor sample. Any ideas?

So a basic white tile? White cabinets ok?

    agree ^^

pick a color out of your counter for your cabinets.

find a plain floor or a wood look floor. what u have picked will clash with your counters. bring lots of samples home.

    good luck!

The floor is wrong - No movement, just a plain floor. I think you need a warm white/off white for the cabinets that pulls out the lightest color in your counters. You could do a darker floor color pulling out a gray from the counter, or put in wood.

I think Alabaster would be fine... I'd see if a paint store can put aside a huge chip for you. I know paint stores up here are doing curbside pickup. As for the floor, I agree with the others, wood look flooring would be better.

Right now the cabinets are matched to the FLOORING. You have changed the counters so that the cabinets read quite creamy (yellow range). The counter top is doing "OK" with the cabs...but not with the your choice of FLOOR and the COUNTERS.

You can work with an off-white that pulls a bit gray/taupe. But not by much. A crisp white is NOT going to work here because 'crisp' implies blue undertones. You have a counter top with BROWN and gray undertones (aka. greige). Which means you need to pick a white cabinet colour that is going to work with your counters. Once you do that, you will want to find a flooring option.

And remember: too much of the SAME colour becomes boring. Kitchens work well with CONTRAST. Which means a DEEPER floor colour (say the brown/taupe in the counter top rather than the white gray) would work really nicely.

If you work too light, you will have a medium counter top (medium depth) on light on light. It might not be enough contrast to keep you from creating a blah kitchen.

Cold, gray, and lifeless. You need the warmth of wood.

Great ideas. We originally thought about extending our hardwood flooring from the living room to the kitchen. The only issue is the acacia hardwood flooring was installed 10 years ago. Lumber liquidators has the same style but the planks are wider. I’m inserting a picture of the flooring using there picture it tool. Thank you for your ideas.

    Picture living room/ kitchen meet.

I would rotate the planks to run perpendicular to the living room acacia. This is a simple way to add more of the same wood that is a different width of plank.

And yes...the acacia would be a great option for what is already existing. A soft white (not as yellow as your current cabs) would be an excellent way to get some crisp contrast without getting a colour clash.
