i wonder how rot resistent the cord is.. considering its spec'd to a car interior ...

im sure it would last for a while.. but after a year or two.. i would worry about bombing peeps below with various plants ..

Ah Ken, so you're an annualist, too? Who knew?

The cords comprising the cargo net are polyester, so no rot would be expected. I figure I could put a 2 gallon fabric grow bag in the middle compartment and a 1 gallon bag in each of the side compartments. Today, I just HAD to get out of the house (I've been holed up with a stomach ailment for 3 days) and get myself to a nursery. First I had to research where a nursery was, around here. Having done that, and discovering it was very close, I hied myself posthaste to the nursery. They ain't cheap (ha!) but they had some very nice and unusual marigolds I'd never seen (with different colored, sort of banded petals) and a fabulous new petunia which is dark bluish-purple with a sprinkling of tiny white spots. I think it's called "Night Sky" or something like that. Gorgeous. They also had small sized fuschias, so I could buy a baby for $6 instead of the potted hanging $14 ones. They also had the Bandana Rose variety of lantana, with its dusty pink, yellow, and orange blossoms. I wanted to use that as my central "thrill" in the 2 gallon grow bag and stick a couple yellow French marigolds and a bit of purple alyssum (the "fill") in there with it, surround it by the cherry star calibrachoas with the yellow rays as my "spill". I think they were also like $6, so I might go back tomorrow to get those, so I can start working on my balcony railing display. Lowe's had a 20" window box planted with 3 pink two-tone geraniums and some white flowering bacopa 50% off---the 3 geraniums alone would have cost more, so that went home with me. The fuschia will go on top of the 4-shelf wire shelving unit, since 9 of my hostas are still with my friends in Long Island, and with COVID, are likely to remain there for the growing season. Might as well use that shelf space!
