It looks like you have 7' to the edge of the pool, not including the coping. That leaves about 5-6' clear walkway. That might seem like a lot, however it's probably a safe distance. When I think of pools I always think of parties & kids. Basically my favorite activity as kid myself. Between running, splashing (slippery) and also what appears to be access from that side, you could consider the 7', 'the right size.'

To add anything significant to your decking would be at least 2 feet - cutting down considerably on that side.

Plus - it's going to look great centered from the inside, as opposed to be off center enough to visually look weird.

@Build Beautiful Thank you for the quick answer Frank! I really appreciate it. I'm thinking of making the sundeck straight across, that seems like a better look?

Is the sundeck that little area behind the jacuzzi? You could extend it to have a decent space to put some sunbathing chairs.

Oops I mean to say I was thinking of making my sundeck/wet deck the same length straight cross instead of having the steps taking some of the room. What do you think? @build beautiful
