I’m not sure if it is a great idea to replace the shutters right now because when you replace the siding on your house in the future, it is a possibility that you may have to replace the shutters again depending on what color siding you pick. I think that it is a good idea to pick a new color for the door. Miniature Boxwood bushes are great for curb appeal and landscaping, and also aren’t killed by lots of sunlight. Daylillies, irs, veronica, coreopsis, tall phlox, peonys, and knock out roses (if you keep them trimmed smaller), all will grow very well, with your east sun. Goes without saying, that you do need to water a bit regardless of what you put there.
