Thank you!! Don’t believe I ever would have found that one on my own. :) Some of the photos I can find look like mine. The one from Brushwood looks very like. Others seem very different. For instance, the bar on mine is never very large or vibrant. Are the differences I see just lighting and/or natural variation? Mine is always a thin bar, and the whole flower very subdued and pastel in nature.

Lighting and growing conditions will always influence the flower appearance and depth of coloring.

It is the presence of those few upright interior tepals that cllnches the ID for me. They don't show up consistently and only with the initial bloom flush but AFAIK, they only appear with Dr. Ruppel.

Thank you! That makes it easy. :) I had no idea they were that distinctive.

Since they can appear with some other cultivars, I should amend that statement to read: "but AFAIK, they only appear with Dr. Ruppel with plants of that coloring."

Some flowers also fade quickly with certain light exposures, so that is one other factor that can change appearances.
