I have a patch of purple sensation allium bulbs that have reproduced MANY bulblets. I think they may have been crowding out the mature bulbs so I dug them out. Some are the size of nickels, some the size of peas. Can anyone tell me about how long it takes bulbs this small to grow large enough to produce blooms? Is this a common practice to remove the babies so the mature bulbs keep blooming?
