Thank so much CA. It is rapidly coming back from the state that it was, because I thought that it had died. Well I did not realize that there were multiple trees in the original pot. Then after I noticed it I felt that if I could have three trees for the cost of one, it would be great. Also it was suggested that there may be a concern with them not doing as well together, i.e. competition for food and space, choking of roots etc. But now I basically am looking for input from those of you that are more experienced at this than I. Just curious as to will there be an issue down the road with them growing in this manner. Since the bases seems to be almost fused I felt that how they are growing now seems to be working. But if together is a problem then what would be the chance of separation and survival at this point. I would rather sacrifice some of it than lose the whole tree/bush. If I am mistaken I would gladly just prune it and pot up. Just trying to do what is best to not lose it down the line.

It's up to you. If it were me, I'd probably just clip out the two side-growing plants or limbs. Don't try to separate them at this point. This is key lime, right? They are cheap and easy to find if you really want another one.

Then train it into more a standard. But key limes tend to grow more as shrubs.

You can always grow the seeds you harvest and they will grow very nicely.

Thanks Dave. That is along the lines that I was leaning. Just trim the roots a bit, pot it up and see what happens. Possibly giving up one of the less vigorous of the three if I have to. Just looking for the most reasonable care moving forward.

Thanks poncitrusguy. I have not attempted growing from seeds before other than vegetables. It might be worth a try just to see the results.
