Hello ,

I am new to be a plant pappy and I have a select few house plants. I have a croton, pachira aquatica, aloe vera, and pothos ( which previously had fungus in the old pot and was dying but I saved it). I love gardening and plants in general since I was young and since I'm finished with college and have more time and before moving to a new apartment wanted to get more plants ( while learning more and perfecting the hobby).

I live in Ohio and I have a question about my new pothos cuttings. So I work in a building with many pothos plants and during the pandemic no one was available to take care of them and I grabbed a few of the wilting vines. *photos below* I watched a few videos on how to best clip the vines for cuttings to propagate and reroot to repot.

I was wondering does anyone have any experience when the vines have been severely neglected to a severe point and saved them or are they no good then ?

I'm going to look for fresher cuttings but I was really hoping to save these , it would make me feel like I kind of know what I'm doing lol and advancing if this was a success lol ... also is it a good idea to put a small piece of a houseplant spike in the water with the cuttings ?
