Peony price differences, Canada vs USA

Hi,

I’m new to this forum, so my apologies if this has been discussed before. I was looking to purchase the peony “Gordon E. Simonson,” and when I look online, the least expensive price in the USA (where I live) is around $110, and the MOST expensive price I can find in Canada is around $65 CAD (approximately $47 USD). Any idea why this would be the case? And does anyone know if any Canadian peony stores mail to the USA? I don’t mind paying a small price difference, but these are pretty big differences. Thanks everyone!

There are some Canadian companies that ship to the US. Go to the Canadian Peony Society website and look at vendors. Something to be aware of is the additional fees for phytosanitary certificate, customs, and shipping costs.

Thank you, I took a look at those vendors. The only one I could find that would ship to the United States did not have the peony I was looking for. I would, when the borders are reopened, go to Canada to pick it up, as it is not a far trip for me. But I would have no idea how to get a phytosanitary certificate. I may just end up having to pay more to get it in the US.
