I have leathered granite, but it’s a different type of granite (steel grey) and I have not had any marks from anything at all.

I have the same leathered granite as skmom and no marks at all and we slide dishes and pots around on it.

We were told today by the company I purchased the counters from from that this is normal for Light gray leathered granite and that maybe adding a sealer could help but that is normal wear and tear. We use ceramic white dishes so maybe that is causing it?

The granite is harder than the dishes. You’re getting bits of plate ground off of your dishes. The same happens with metal marks on light surfaces. The stone is harder than the steel, so bits of steel come off and make the metal mark.

Soft scrub. Maybe Barkeeper’s Friend if there’s no calcites in the stone.

We have not thought of that. Do you mean scrub with Soft Scrub multi surface gel? I do not know if there are calcites in the stone.
