    Good morning Jeff,

Thanks for your inquiry. I was able to find the following information from Techo-Bloc that might prove helpful:

Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) is a composite measure that combines surface’s solar reflectance and emittance. Essentially, the SRI is an indicator of how well a surface reflects (reflectance) and release absorbed solar radiation (emittance). The lower the SRI, the hotter a material is likely to become in the sunlight. High SRI surfaces can help reduce the urban heat island that causes cities to stay warmer which contributes to increase energy consumption for air conditioning systems and air pollution. Summary of LEED® criterion for credits on heat island reduction applicable to paving products for non-roof and parking cover applications (minimum values):

Solar reflectance and SRI values for Techo-Bloc landscaping products, as tested by independent testing laboratory:

COLOR SWATCH SOLAR REFLECTANCE SOLAR REFLECTANCE INDEX (SRI)

Greyed Nickel has a solar reflectance of 0.32 an a Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of 35

    For comparison:

Autumn Red has a SR of .15 and SRI 14

Azzurr has a SR of .15 and SRI 12

Ivory has a SR of .46 and SRI 53

    We welcome your inquiry.

This is great info. Thank you!

I wonder what it translates to in terms of temperature in real world usage.

In this beautiful application shown here, i wonder if it gets too hot to walk on in the sun with bare feet?

I may not have any helpful advice for you. Our client has indicated that it has not been noticed, but admit to usually wearing footwear.
