How to fix this lawn?

As you can see, some nice green grass but the rest looks like a sh*t show. Yellow spots scattered all around lawn. I fertilized the lawn equally, so that isn’t an explanation as to why there are big yellow patches. if someone can tell me why it’s like this, what’s causing it, and how to deal and fix this, that would be great! Thanks.

2. What kind of grass do you have?
3. What is your watering schedule? How often and for how long do you water?
4. What did you fertilize with and when?

I live in Canada, AB. I dont know what type of grass. I try to water early in the morning once every 2-3 days. I water about 1/3-1/2 inch. I fertilized with 28-0-3 lawn fertilizer two weeks ago
