Suggestions on using a low ceiling loft

Hi all - I'm moving into a new apartment in NYC and its a duplex. On the one floor there is a huge loft that runs more than half of the floor with a proper staircase to go up and down. Here's the issue - the loft is only 4' tall. I cannot figure out what is a cool and creative way to use it, especially since it's all open and visible. Does anyone have any creative usage ideas? Or ways to use the space efficiently? I'm open to any suggestions or previous experience you may have!
