Fertilize on the regular schedule, mow regularly, and otherwise ignore.

While seeding out is stressful, it's the sign that the lawn is really, really happy. Unhappy grasses won't seed, so you're doing something right.

My lawn's extensively seeding out at the moment, but it won't last too long. We mow off the grass seed every time, and none of it will mature. Which is good, it doesn't breed true anyway.

lol I asked this same question about 7 years ago and morph gave the same answer. Happy grass. Mine is seeding right now as well.

There are no bad grasses. It's all Happy Mistakes on the grass' part (the grass owner, on the other hand, can be a real PITA).

And I even like to paint grasses, too.

But seriously, my lawn seems to be having a banner year in terms of seeding, with extensive seed production happening across the lawn. I suspect it's the drier, sunnier, cooler spring we just had. There are grass seed heads everywhere, so the grass is Very Happy. It certainly wasn't from feeding as I fed late and on the low end.
