The yellow - I see that too. And some of the bigger leaflets have it beginning between the veins.

Do you suspect it is something infectious, that could spread without extirpation ( as opposed to something abiotic)?

I will for sure prune those off - thank you! Hopefully it isn't something infectious but I guess I will have to wait and see...

I've bought a new climbing rose and it's been doing this for a week or two now. The two roses I've had on this have been very fragile too. I seem to be spending alot of time nursing this one, my other rose just gets on with it and gives me no trouble haha.

While new roses are adjusting to their new circumstances, they will shed leaves and twigs and new buds will stop developing (for example., a green basal bud on my new, grafted Sutter's Gold that arrived 7 or 8 weeks ago went dormant and turned brown shortly after arrival, but this week has started developing again, now that it's settled into its new pot). It's normal, just plants reallocating resources to where the need is.
