I have three Twists of Lime myself, and have never had them do this. Odd. And they’re such hardy plants. The only issue I can think of would be something with the soil ph, but I really doubt that’s it, unless you have a crazy high ph level or otoh, too acidic. But they’re pretty tolerant to a normal range (I’m on the higher alkaline side). I suppose they could still be suffering some transplant shock.

Whatever it is, though, they love full sun (even our brutal Texas sun/heat), so I wouldn’t move them. I have a sassy one in a bed that gets afternoon shade, and it’s sending up these funny tall shoots wanting more sun ... giving me the finger. :D

Hopefully someone here knows, but if not, ask at your trusted local nursery. I’ll bet they start thriving soon. Maybe feed them something organic, keep them watered, and wait. :)

Lol, I have some roses giving me the finger currently! My soil is mildly acidic but nothing crazy. I have a feeling you're right about shock- I planted them WAY too late in the fall due to landscaper shenanigans, and even though the winter was mild they probably need some recovery time and maybe more water. If the small new leaves don't grow I'll consider hard pruning.

Whatever is wrong, don't take it personally.....I doubt it was anything you did or didn't do :-)

I have a feeling the shrubs did not get very established before winter set in. I grow Kaleidoscope rather than Twist of Lime but the only time mine lost many leaves was when I left it in a container through the winter. Its brother, planted the season before, has barely dropped a leaf since it was planted but the follow up plant has struggled since. Only a third the size and still not very heavily leafed.
