It could just be that the rose is a bit shocked from having been transplanted. I'd give it some months to recover before doing anything to it, other than keeping it well-watered of course.

Thanks Ingrid for sharing your thoughts! I can see a lot of new growth just the flowers look different than they did. I will wait and give it time to adjust to the new area. Maybe as it grows bigger and the flowers are up higher they will look more like they did before.

What Ingrid said! When you move a rose from one place to another it needs time to re-establish its roots before it can focus on blooms. If you planted it in a good spot (with enough light, etc) it will come back better and stronger than it was when planted in the container -- but it needs time.

Thanks KS, it does have more sun and a lot more space and better soil. I will wait and see... hopefully it will be happy in the ground and I will again see the blooms I am used to seeing!
