Are talking quartzite or quartz. Quartzite is a stone and quartz is manmade. I actually would prefer granite over either but quartzite would be 2nd.

Definitely quartzite. We ruled quartz out because it looks pixelated somewhat (on certain ones) and it’s really expensive.

It was between quartzite & marble because granite is just too busy. We looked at white ice granite and it’s ok, but not exactly the look I’m going for.

Only marble will really look like the stones you reference. A quartz with a little spidery vein will be the mimic to one of those.

You can tell nothing in another's kitchen, and any slab would have to be seen in person. Keep shopping until you find something you love.

Quartzite can be just as pricey, just be aware. Stoneyards call their slabs all different things, very difficult to compare apples to apples between places. I've never seen a quartzite that looks like marble, they both have distinct veining. But, if you want something light, look for White Lux, White Macaubus, Glacier White, etc.

There are many stories here and on www.stonefabricatorsalliance.com of quartzite edges bleeding/staining catastrophically. The only way I'd buy it is if my fabricator could give me the names and addresses of several years-old installations of the exact material that I selected that I could visit in person.
