Am thinking that pretty much all walls should be painted as well as the ceiling. Would suggest leaving your ceiling beams darker. The wagon wheel chandelier is nice but certainly contributes to the dated feel of the room. Would suggest a fixture that is more modern. Am not a big fan of painting stone fireplaces (unlike brick). So would leave it as is except for a good cleaning. Good luck!

IMO to lighten up a room good lighting is the key . Add some more in LEDs 4000K and I mean lots more . You could look at cable lighting I like Tech lighting for it. That will allow you to have lighting all over insted of just in the middle of the space . Do not paint the stone it is IMO never a good look.

I ♥♥♥ this room! I would also finish the last wall, and paint only door trim because of the beautiful wood windows. If you like, you can paint upper walls later, but I like the wood.

Patricia has great lighting ideas that cover the whole ceiling. You might also consider some layout changes where you have separate areas with lots of lamps. The TV can sit on a cabinet, table, or upcycled dresser, many find it uncomfortable over the fireplace. A version of an arc floor lamp would work over the dining table.

I vote no moose, unless it means something to you. You could also move it. The wagon wheel would make great floor or wall decor.

Continue with the white and take it up into the gable walls at each end of the room. If still to dark for you, paint between the beams white too. Arrange furniture so there is a table or floor lamp at every wall outlet. Change the heavy wagon wheel light to update. Add LEDs in 4000K range to all the lights for a true daylight feeling. Can we see the wall left of the kitchen opening? That may be a better spot for TV.

Thank you everyone for your advice! So I will finish painting the fourth wall, replace the wagon wheel light and take a photo of the wall left of the kitchen opening. My last question...do I paint the baseboard and door molding/trim white and leave the wall of windows brown wood?

What a cool room I’m following! If you like the wagon wheel maybe you could just paint that too? Maybe a light gray? Can’t wait to see how it turns out the wood on the windows is lovely I like that it matches trim on doors. Im not s professional though not sure if baseboards and trim around doors should always be the same so I’ll let someone else chime in lol
