Kitchen Counter Questions - Please help

Good Morning All, I am truly stuck and need your help.

We are in the process of selecting counter-tops for a new kitchen.

I have fallen for this fusion granite but I am worried it will be too busy.

My kitchen island cabinets are navy (see close up photo),

The island has an upper and lower level. Both sides are storage with no bar seating.

The upper level wraps around the sides with deep drawers. The lower level contains a double sink, cooktop, prep sink. The floor tiles and kitchen walls are a warm cream. Lots of light in the room.

What do you say? Thank you all for your help and opinions.

But some people are as passionate about their love for a double as others are for their single. It's something people are intimately familiar with. If someone wants a double sink, they are probably happy working with a double sink. It's not something new and weird you take a gamble on, like a speed oven or a tankless water heater!

I have a single bowl.

(But I do have two levels to my counter and I would hate it if it were one!)

Since you don't have any backsplash yet, you can make this counter the star.

I don't think that would be a wrong choice, but personally, I would go with something lighter color....maybe that slab on the left side of your photo?? I think the cabinets are beautiful, but it might just be too much with the bold, darker stone.

That rock is gorgeous! Go for it...and then pair it with a simple Subway backsplash.

The stone is gorgeous. As said above it will be the star. It will look great with your blue cabinetry. You should go for it. It would have been more swoon-worthy had you made the counters all one level rather than 2-tier. Sorry, I can’t help myself from saying that.

Agree with Joseph. Nix the double sink. One large, single basin sink is the most useful design.

@Fori...many people are so used to doing things one way, they think it’s the only way. If a disposal is what’s driving the decision of a double sink, well, a disposal can be installed in a single basin sink, too. “A garbage disposal can be installed in either a single kitchen sink or on one half of a double sink with a strainer basket in the drain of the second half of the sink. ... You can install a garbage disposal in a single sink in a couple of hours with some basic hand tools.”

I have Fusion! My first choice, Fascination, was unavailable ANYWHERE at the time and then I found Fusion. However my kitchen is quite small so it would have been too busy throughout. Instead I have Fusion on my island and a whiter stone, leathered Virginia Mist granite, on the perimeter. All cabinetry including the island is a soft white. Fusion is spectacular and I have received many compliments on it as I am sure you will too.

Not sure how we veered into sinks, but I have a double farm sink, it’s huuuge, and expensive, and I absolutely love it.

I think that slab would look great with the blue cabinets. However, it appears that the island is longer than the granite slab. It would be interesting to see how the seaming would look. Do they have another slab so the seams could be book matched?
