I really like to know a lot more info to comment: plan? Other finishes like the vanity and countertops, etc. either direction you posted could work but also best to post pictures of actual samples you are considering.

The whole reason for using huge slabs is to avoid all the grout lines that collect soap scum and gross mossy business. I think if your slabs are something like the marble-look in your picture, that might be accent enough. Or add a niche with some contrasting tile (and a place to store your soaps),

so you'd do all shower walls and shower floor with the slab? what about bathroom floor - same color?

I think accent walls are dated. If going with the slab porcelain, leave the walls all the same. You select a smaller tile for the floor as it needs to pitch towards the drain to allow for water run off. You can put the herringbone there, but I'd do a hexagon or some other pattern. I like to keep my bathrooms clean looking so I never use darker colors.

You don't have to keep the walls white, especially if going with a light wood vanity as you showed above in your inspiration pic. However, I'd pick a lightish color for that. I'd give more thought to whether you really want the black fixtures. Super trendy now, but not going to last long. I'd stick with chrome if you don't want to keep chasing trends.

I personally like the herringbone wall and floor. It would be nice to carry the same floor tile from room to shower. I’d have to see the layout to see if the dark accent made sense vs the light on light scheme.
