Any points about growing pinguicula? I am expecting a plant shortly and would like to be prepared. I grow other species, varieties and hybrids, but no experience with pinguicula so far. Help would be most welcome!

As to Pinguicula, pls search here if you haven't already, there are multiple threads about it from prior times.

I don't have one any more, but had been gifted one w/ a new pup. The parent plant was slow but the pup grew up so fast I jokingly referred to it as a jet fueled Sans. Also, if you ever need to transport it, pls put styrofoam peanuts on the tips, as they can cause injury (learned the hard way). Sans like this make me think of Living Sculpture, so handsome.

Thanks, Basia and Karen, for the nice words. This is definitely not the plant ER or ICU. It's where I put plants that are getting better, but still need to be monitored.

I don't feel I'm a pinguicula expert. I agree, searching for previous posts is a good idea. I've had this one for, oh, maybe 7 years or so. It's slow (I need to find some jet fuel) but grows more quickly in warm temperatures - it sent put that pup and another one during summer months here. I originally had it planted raised up on its stilt-like roots, but the plant never did stabilize in the pot that way. So when my cat became obsessed with it...well, the leaf tips are as sturdy as they are sharp. I lost count of how many times it got knocked out pf the pot and onto the floor with no apparent damage. I keep it (inside) very near an East window. It gets direct morning sun for a couple of hours. It has been a carefree plant for me. But let's remember I'm a chronic under-waterer.
