Oh wow! It's absolutely stunning! And what a beautiful, delicate color!

Aw shucks, I hate Japanese beetles! They are my worst enemy in the garden. Every spring they destroy the roses at our family farm in the Central Valley. For quite a few years I had a false sense of security that they would never reach the Bay Area, but these past couple of years they have started to show up here. Every day I scoured the roses for the pests and killed all that I could find, but I'm afraid that won't be enough to stop them from spreading. I've been wanting to get a pesticide to spray the roses with, but I have a garden cat so I can't use anything that would be dangerous for him.

Morden Blush sure is a beauty! The blooms are so ruffly and beautiful, they look like clouds! And continuous blooms?! That's a winning combination if I've ever seen one! I'll definitely have to check my local nursery to see if they carry it this spring.

I spray. Some years I get a bit lax on spraying. I have had this plant for about 23-24 years. For several years I entirely abandoned the clean garden approach, and only did spraying.

I redoubled my efforts starting last year and this year to keep clean rose beds.

The short answer is, if you do not spray it can spot, a little in our warm humid climate. It is not a blackspot magnet. When I have been lax on spraying, or when we are getting 5-days of continuous rain, I can get a tiny bit of leaf damage on Morden Blush. I think it more subject to other less debilitating rose diseases. I want to say I have seen a bit of anthracnose on it, but not a lot of it.

I'm so happy I bought mine--I initially wasn't expecting much and Morden Blush has been one of my most consistent performers!!
