Wine nook in Kitchen- yea or nay on space?

We want to knock out a nook on this wall in our kitchen. Intention is to create a bar area, with a 30” counter depth wine/beverage refrigerator, light and some shelving. On the other side of this wall is a hallway with storage closet that is only used to store our wine rack. So structurally this will work. The space from the end of the molding on the pantry closet to the end of the wall is 41”. 11’ ceiling in the kitchen. I have photos to show style of kitchen cabinets and trim.

Questions: How tall a nook should we create? And as for shape – we have arches throughout house, should we have an arched opening or square it off? Floating shelves? We do not want to match our countertop so we were thinking stainless, or maybe cement? We do not need storage for liquor, we have a limited amount in a dining area credenza. Would not mind having glasses rack or separate rack display for some wine. Color, Should we use a contrasting color? Do tile? Wallpaper for the back wall?
