Fern (I think) location Thailand. And the ugly looking plant in the foreground of the second photo, next to the fern.

No ferns to be seen in those pictures. They’re palms. The ‘ugly’ plant is far away in deep shadow and out of focus so unfortunately little detail is visible.

It looks like a Golden Cane Palm, Dypsis lutescens. The "ugly plant" looks a bit like a small Snake Weed, Stachytarpheta species, but the image is very poor so can't say for certain.

The photos are low resolution. Could you get about 5 feet closer and take another?

The “ugly“ plant might be a euphorbia lactea cristata variegata, or something close to that. If so, you might find it ugly, but it would fetch a pretty penny from a collector at that size.
