I have no clue you need to have pics that show the actual whole room and also an Idea of what you need for your business too.

I think that the combination of the dark wood desk, dark desk chair, dark large recliner are overwhelming the space and making it feel low and dark. Can you lighten up the recliner, do you need the recliner there? Removing it and putting the little shelves over there might be nice. How about a tall plant (even if it's a fake plant). If you can, perhaps remove the window curtains to let more light in, or replace with blinds that you can pull up when not needed. Removing the curtains would make it look more like a professional space. Good luck with your new job!!!

I think I would start with a rug. I'd go for a light tone and one that will blend with your lovely cognac chair. You would need a reading lamp. I'd get a standing one and then move on to bring in some personality. Would you consider repainting the walls, if not, then get some colorful items to perk up the room. Art, objects, flowers, etc.

We just painted the two walls to be appropriate for Telehealth. I am a social worker. Blue and purple are “supposed to be” good colors.

i did add a sheepskin rug in that room right now. I moved the bookshelf to between the desk and chair.

Those are good colors for what exactly. I think you need to explain what you are actually doing. I must not be seeing what everyone else is since I can barely see the floor

Today professional offices have a welcoming homelike atmosphere - bare walls and floor, dark furniture seem cheerless. Why does the wall behind the desk need to be bare? A bookcase, chair with end table and lamp, a plant, and several pictures on wall can be warm and impersonal simultaneously. I agree about rug and replacing curtains with a window shade.
