Yeah, I only lament for a short time. Then I just think it all happens for a reason. And there is no way I could hold it against her for deciding to keep it. It's amazing!

Well I did really like the fact that this one was in a hanging pot. But the very next day, I stumbled upon a moving sale near me. Mind you, I had already scoped out this house on Zillow and noted their amazing houseplants and had only hoped some would go up for sale when they moved. Well, it happened!

I acquired two enormous hoya carnosas and I mean enormous. One of them filled the entire back of my SUV. I ended up dropping that one off at a local nursery (I know the owner) who said they would take it.

This is the other one growing on a second story in her home.

The owner gave it a haircut to try to make it easier for me to move which resulted in a huge pile of cuttings that I divided up and gave away. I made bundles of 3-5 foot lengths with 5 or 6 strands in each bundle. There were 10 bundles.

The rest of the plant, I wrestled onto a vintage tomato cage (it's somewhat different than modern ones in that it's wider at the base than the top). I spent about an hour wrapping the long vines onto it. Then my son helped me put it in the house.

Quite a day's work. But all worth it I'm sure. This thing is no joke! :-)
