I believe they will fall off and the new blooms come right behind them.

i read the link 3 times ... it says nothing about pruning ... and thats the nut ...

i THINK you are equating pruning.. with deadheading ...

i dont think anyone prunes begonia ... in the average backyard setting .... [and i will defer if they grow like monsters in warmer climes or some such ....]

but i think deadheading.. removing spent blooms ... is to your whims and discretion ...

if you have one plant next to your favorite chair on the patio .. and you get tired of looking at wilting old blooms ... snip or pinch it off .. and the next is on the way ...

if you have a thousand of them across 3 acres .. let them be.. and do their own thing .. no need for you to be proactive ...

They do not need dead heading. As djacobz said, the dead flowers drop off. And the link says the same thing.
