Looking design and materials ideas for stairs/planter/path to current patio area. We're replacing the left window (5 ft wide) with a 7ft patio doors to our kitchen and need to create new steps down and a clear path leading to our existing patio area on the right. It will be at the same height as the existing patio door in front of the patio area and will be no more than about 4ft away. Would like some sort of raised planter between the doors ideally. Like to retain our ability to step down from both doors. We don't want a deck or to pull-up our current patio bricks (but would consider expanding them). To the left of the new door will be a raised bed using beige retaining bricks we already own (see image). Those could also be used for planter? Concrete steps? Wood or fake? railing? Live in zone with cold winters and our style is nature + traditional. Thanks for your advice!
