Bob, be careful. That is one tall ladder and I don't see anyone outside keeping an eye on you..Well, wait, someone had to take that picture. I'll bet you can never sit still. I sure can't. I should of owned a farm. I am usually up with the birds and cows.

I see you said "repotting" which means you have not given up yet. That's great. What a difference in scene a season makes. Beautiful.

Mike, as long you care for trees you already have and need uppotting. Looking for at least 3 years, hopefully more. You have your share of plenty of work.

bob I too have a Asian pear tree didn’t ever Prune it though perhaps that’s why it’s not given me much fruit! And whatever fruit it does have goes to squirrels I think in the ten years we had it we’ve probably had Only 20 fruits from the thing! I feel like our citrus need endless repotting bob I feel like I just repotted them last year and here I go again I think I repotted most of my citrus again this year I love that it keeps me busy though :)

Jan, there is so much written about squirrels, how to protect fruits from them. First, think small manageable tree’s. Pears are easy to keep small. A short trunk, vegetation that looks like a ball, pears don’t need to be sun kissed.

If that’s the case I will be trimming my pears very soon bob! Right now they’re very scraggly with many long branches and very tall almost two stories tall! Perhaps reaching for the sun since it’s partially shaded by my house! I have two pears bob an Asian pear and one of them is a Bartlett I believe I will be trying it on one of them this winter!
