The reason ken and I are asking is that she has always deleted her photos after a day or two, so very few survive on the forum. She turned her hot tub room (which is ouside her bathroom door) into her hosta room. It's lined in bamboo (the whole yard has a Zen kind of feeling). The whole area is gorgeous. She covers the hosta room in the winter to keep her hosta dry and the squirrels out. Her ability to display her hosta is worthy of at least a peek or two.

Babka, would love to see your hosta room! It is gardening that has been a bright spot for me during these tough times. I have spent more time attending to my hosta and my gardens than most years. When so many things have changed and your regular routines are totally disrupted, my garden has provided normalcy and joy.

Just beautiful! I especially like the Hosta in the 3rd photo in the top row on the right in front of the light coloured wall. It has especially wide cream margins. Would love to know what that one is please!

Love your hostas, including Sweet Innocence! Those are clay pots? they seems to have unusual shape for clay pot.

Yes, the pots are clay. Some of my hostas are planted directly in them, but the larger bowls are too heavy for me when filled, now that I suddenly got old, so I use plastic pots and put them inside the clay bowls for aesthetics. I like to move the plants around so I can look at my favorite ones for that month from the chair in my family room.

Ken- It looks like an old insecticide bottle to me. That photo is old.

I haven't bought any new and exciting hostas in the last several years. I quit taking the annual "school photos" of each hosta back in 2017. Now I just enjoy them as old friends.

How's your collection? Or did the trees take over.

babka, once again, thanks for sharing. I love your plastic pots in a larger clay pot idea so you are able to manage moving them. How nice to be able to arrange so you can look at different groupings and old friends. I had never thought of being able to do that.

I would love to have hostas in pots, but also being “suddenly old” I would not be able to do all the moving around to protect them from winter.

So serene. Your hostas all look like they're in absolutely perfect condition, too. That's a great side effect of growing them in pots.

I completely agree about the age thing. Twenty five years ago when I started my garden, spending a full day working on it was fun. Over the years, the garden got bigger and bigger. Now it needs 4 to 5 hours a day every day, it's a chore, and I usually need an afternoon nap.

Ken- Alas the Mito-No-Hana is no more. It put up that 48" flower spike and I was so excited.

Last year it came up a lot smaller so I potted it up in a smaller container and it didn't come up at all this year. When I emptied the pot, I found root mealy bugs and a rotted remnant of a once magnificent VERY SPECIAL hosta. ;-(
