I don't have a batch one. But I saw this which may be of help. It sounds like you can only do as much as the disposal will hold and you won't be able to continuously feed it. Which would be a big annoyance to me. Fill, run, stop, fill, run, stop, fill, run, stop....

It takes longer to get rid of large amounts of waste. If you have a large family and you have a lot of food to grind, you will have to spend more time around the batch feed disposer.

I have a batch feed KA disposal. I like it very much and feel it's safer. It's not a strainer that makes it work but a plug that turns. It lives in a corner of my sink,

@Patricia Colwell Consulting You should pass on commenting on issues that irritate you. You don't know my circumstances. I literally have a postage stamp front yard and a backyard that is even smaller. I recycle paper, cardboard, and aluminum. I stopped buying bottled water when our local centers stopped taking plastic. I save water in pitchers in my kitchen and bathrooms while waiting for the water to heat up so I can pour it on my indoor and outdoor plants. Even if I composted what would I do with it? I don't think anyone would want it.

@tedbixby1981 I think that's what I use to do anyway before our old disposal stopped working. Just scraps went down the drain for a family of 3 most of the time. Not a lot. This will dictate whether I need a 3/4 or a 1 horsepower unit.

I also have had batch feeders for decades and dislike the other kinds as well. It feels safer to me. That said, I use it sparingly.... and never potatoes, onions or carrot skins(ask me how I know). My plug can be either a “strainer” for when I run it, or sealed. It’s an Insinkerator brand
