White wash brick??

I would like to lighten up the brick on the fireplace in our new home. I have seen some tutorials on white washing brick with water and paint. Does anyone know how to do this??

    It's easy use gloves 1 part paint and 2 parts water . Apply with a rag. If you want a deeper color add more paint. I like to use a light gray paint.
