My dining room is feeling so dark. The table is 60” square, but 60” x 96” with leaves and the top is showing signs of wear and needs to be painted. I can sand it and touch up with black paint, but also wonder if painting it a different color would help. I made these gray, orange, and black color choices about 10 years ago and now prefer a brighter, more cheerful aesthetic. Any ideas?

Our family of 6 eats here every day-the kids are young, which is why we don’t have a rug. Except for during the pandemic, we also have ~25 people eat dinner in the room weekly. We put folding tables in the other half.
