It needs to be repotted with fresh commercial potting mix.

Does that pot have a hole in the bottom? If so, you could use it, otherwise definitely get a new pot with a hole. Plastic is ok.

When you repot, remove all the old potting mix. If it were my plant, I would cut off the only very worst leaves like that one front and center but leave others. If that longest vine has another leaf on it, I would cut it back to just before that leaf. You can water after you repot and put it in a bright location, no direct sun. It should survive, these are tough plants and that one will be very pretty if you can save it. If it lives, when you water it, water somewhere until the water runs out the holes. No sips of water.

Had you put it out in strong sun? Or has it been dry & w/out water for a long time?

Hi KarenS, I actually made the mistake and left it out when I first got it. We had a heatwave during that time and it dried out and burnt. I was watering it every other day but I clearly don't know what I'm doing... Thank you!

Whatever brand potting soil you can get for indoor plants. Most here don't care for Miracle Grow but if that's all that is available you can use that. Don't use soil from the garden, ok?

I used Miracle Gro 😅 I live in an apartment so I can only buy soil ! Should I only be using the potting soil one ? Or should I make my own mix ?

just go ahead and use the miracle grow you have. As the plant recovers be very careful not to overwater.

You need to repot your pothos in a special potting mix for houseplants. You can find what you need in the previous link. Avoid direct sunlight, avoid overwatering and lack of water. Good luck with your houseplants.

Start over. Get a new plant, and new potting soil. Sometimes you cannot fix stuff. Just start over. My mother used to grow those in water. In a pot, just keep it damp. Don't water it every day.

I find this highly variegated pothos which is called NJoy or Pearls and Jade (there is a difference but I can't see it with my untrained eye) a bit less vigorous and somewhat fussier than the good old golden pothos.

I think I would pull it out of the pot and see what the roots are doing. Try repotting half of it in a mix of potting soil and add some additional perlite. You could try putting half of it in water to see if you can get some new roots going. Cut off any roots that look "sick".

Or buy a new one. I do agree with Babka that sometimes it's just not worth all the trouble. Especially with plants that are readily available.

Oh,thats not so bad. Bringing it in is mostly all you have to do. Trim off worst leaves and wait for new ones.

Now,if that pot has no drainage holes? Then you must put it in one with holes. Simple.

Ironic because,if you had taken it out of the pot,washed off ALL the soil?..just put it in vase of water( roots only) and it would grow like that forever also. Easy if slower growing that way.
