Window Treatment Dilema

We are fans of curtains and have research the designer recommendations for the length of curtains and installation of rods. One of our living room walls is not same depth from top to bottom (see picture) preventing us from installing the curtains as recommended. We would love any suggestions/recommendations for how to install curtains/rods here. Thank you in advance!
