Clarify pls what you mean by w/ & w/out chlorophyll? Are you meaning the white leaves as those w/out chlorophyll? If so, are you suggesting w/ remove all our white leaves?

You grow such spectacular Hoyas that I wish to learn some of your secrets (even tho' I can only grow indoors). I'm certain others are eager to learn from your successes as well.

A lot of people do remove the all-white leaves as they zap energy from the plant and can eventually halt growing. I enjoy them until they start to look "tired"... seems eventually, they just aren't pretty anymore, so that's when I remove an all-white or cream vine. But I didn't know it affected the flowers! I guess either I've never gotten flowers off of white vines, or I've never gotten them at the same time as I got flowers from green vines. Beautiful photos!

Dear Karen

You have understood the subject very well and I would indeed suggest removing the branch.
Denise has explained it very well and the leaves without chlorophyll end up becoming very ugly until they wilt.
I delete them as soon as I find them.
I have written a post on my blog titled "the importance of giving cuttings"
and even if it is not to give it away, it is not a bad idea to eliminate this "defective" branch
