Monday 7/6 blooms

The only good thing about the heat is that the nights and mornings are warm and the daylilies are open by 6:30 in the morning. Being from the southern tier of NY, I am not used to seeing all the sun that we have been getting, so picture taking has been allowing me to practice all sorts of yoga poses. I don't have a lot of time in the morning to take pictures as I have to go to work. When I get home, it is eat dinner, take the kids to the neighbor's pool and water the vegetable garden. Enough of my life, here is what was blooming:

J.P. MONEYBAGS: Got this from Lauratwixanddud. I like this one and it would probably like me if I didn't have it in a pot. That will be rectified this fall.

SPIDERMAN: A classic

A seedling out of Heavenly Pink Fang: Nice edge but nothing to write home about.

THE BAND PLAYED ON: This has been a nice one this year. This is the fourth bloom and the worst one. The others did not have any blemishes.

ASHWOOD DARKSIDE: I have several that look like this so some will have to go to make room for some that are in pots.

CORINTHIAN PINK: This is a big flower that is a consistent performer. It will always have a spot in my garden.

PURPLE MANY FACES: This is one that I dug up and thought that I had gotten rid of. I guess I missed a piece.

OUR FRIEND OLIN: This is a spectacular plant. It is always flat and ruffled. The substance is thick for a diploid. It is sonsistently my best branched daylily (4). I love this one. It will always have a spot in the garden.

My two favorites are My Friend Olin and Corinthian Pink. You have some nice pinks and near pinks in your garden and I love seeing them...........Maryl

LEMON FRINGED PASTEL: Another good one. Grows very well and blooms are consistent.

SUGAR CREAM PIE: I am liking this one. It is loaded with buds. It seems that the crazy winter weather affected some of the plants more than others. Not the best photo as the first thing in the morning sun and its angle make picture taking a challenge.

ABSOLUTE RIPPER: FFE. I thnk I will like this one. Very large and teeth everywhere.

Both very pretty, David. I like Lemon Fringed Pastel very well. At first I saw only two photos, so I came back as Houzz is experimenting as always; sure enough you had more than two photos (the first half of the first bloom was cut off so the "read more" didn't show. Our Friend Olin remind me of Wild Cherry Round-Up. The flat bloom with ruffled edge. as for your experience with Purple Many Faces, that has happened to me a few times. Exasperating when it does. (I moved out Big Red Combo last year, but it was back this year.

Olin is my favorite today with Corinthian Pink coming in second. Big, simple flowers are always a pleasant addition to the Garden, a good contrast to the fancies.

Corinthian Pink and Ashwood Darkside are my favorites. I hope you will be keeping Ashwood Still Night. Most Norris plants perform very well here.

OUR FRIEND OLIN ........had not heard of this one . Wow , it is a lovely flat faced ruffly pink. I think I love it !

Caribbean Whipped Cream is a very beautiful flower, but this year here the scapes are shorter than in other years. Nothing extreme, but a difference.

Caribbean Whipped Cream is indeed a pretty flower. I remember years ago being stopped in my tracks by Corinthian Pink on a daylily tour. of course it was new then and huge and pink! It is still very pretty.

That's so true David! About the heat and daylilies open early. Lol at yoga poses.

I love The Band Played On, it's one of my favorites here, such a great color combo. I like the edge on HPF sdlg too. Oh Corinthian Pink is such a pretty pink! And my other favorite is Absolute Ripper, love the colors, form and the edge of course.
