Chances are you are not the first to feel this way. Perhaps a negotiation with the seller is in order.

The least expensive option is to just live with it; accept it or do not buy the house. Anything else will add up pretty quickly if you need to replace 4000 SF of floors.

I’m thinking of negotiating $60 k off the house price to replace the floors. Doubt it’ll be accepted but otherwise I won’t be able to stand the ugliness of that vast expanse.

@maddielee I like the idea but I think that it would be tough in this particular house because it's an oceanfront one and it wouldn't fit the vibe.

If I loved the home, I'd get a price to redo the floor, show it to the sellers, and then offer to split the cost.

If you buy and will remove the tile, then do it before you move in. Tile removal isn't brain surgery, but it is messy, dusty and noisy.
