Okay. This posted without my finishing my description. these appear in July, only on my orange glory butterfly bush seed pods. I don't see them on my veggies or other flowers, and they don't seem to be doing any real harm. should I leave them alone, or will they terrorize my whole garden? I googled, but did not find any information on this exact bug. Thank you!

It is a milkweed bug, Oncopeltus fasciatus. It only feeds on species of Asclepias.

...and it is one of the instars so won’t look exactly like an adult.

Thank you. I will leave them alone and let them feed.
