I will hopefully be in the position to get a smoker, which I've wanted for a long time......Cooking is forbidden on the balconies in the building, but I may soon be getting a cottage property where I will have a deck to smoke on. I'm a novice smoker, though I have successfully made a pastrami using a smoke box in a friend's BBQ, so I'm looking for a basic but well-made unit that can run on propane.

Can anyone share their likes or dislikes about what they've got? I'm looking at the Cuisinart (yeah, it sounds funny), because the racks are steel, not chrome, and it gets pretty good reviews among the smokers at that price point. However, I'm interested in any comments from someone who would like to share about that brand, or any other propane smoker.
