I don't own the plant yet...

Certainly a nice native, but I've never grown it in a garden.

Interesting. I take care of a garden that is on the edge of a creek and for many parts of the year a big mud patch. Just yesterday I was just standing there looking at things, and a single stem caught my eye. It was surrounded by lobelia cardinalis and lobelia siphilitica, so it blended in for the most part until I looked closely and saw it. Hmm, I thought, I wonder what that is? I didn't look too closely as everything is a big, wet, soggy mess right now, but just now after opening this thread I went to look up boneset, not being familiar, and I think that's what it was! I will leave it to bloom to confirm, but just thought this was quite the coincidence!

If it turns out to be boneset, I will likely leave it in the garden and "test drive" it for awhile. Sorry, mxk, I know that doesn't help you lol, but you've got great timing!

Yes, it needs constant moisture. If it is what you can give it . . .
