they do keep the rodent population down..for a wooded lot we see very few..I should try using one of our cameras..the phone is so convenient I tend to grab it..I took 3 videos..tried to load one here but it didn't work..

The phone is very convenient and i find myself more and more using it over a camera with a zoom lens. Depends on they day and where I plan on being on what camera gear I carry.

Here is a video of an owl family in the Orlando area being "beggars" for fish on FB. I don't know what camera Deb uses but her videos are quite entertaining.

I would love to see owls!! I hear them now and again but the greenbelt abutting my property is too big and too dense to see anything easily.....except the creatures like the deer that wander out to snack on my garden periodically :-)

But I often hear the coyotes that live there although I seldom see them. They have been especially vocal lately and by the intensity of their yipping and yowling, also very close by!! I keep a close eye on my furry boy when he goes out for his evening ablutions before bedtime.

Same here on the owls - hear them often but never see them. Usually in the wee hours of the morning when I would take our dog(s) out (both are now gone since with the last one May 1 this year). Once in a while I will hear them in the middle of the day which is rare.

I've seen owls here ever since I moved in..and the last few years even more so..this morning I heard them when I took the trash out..my profile pic is an owl pic that I took years ago..I think they're magnificent birds..

I saw a coyote in my yard once..I don't have pets so it didn't freak me out..I prefer foxes and owls :-)

Fantastic nw! You are so lucky to have them in your yard. I am in the same situation as gg & hc mcdole. I live surrounded by forest so it seems the owls feel no reason to venture out, I hear them though. I wish I could say the same for deer, bears etc.

peren..there's a very large park within walking distance but for some reason owls like our neighborhood..I'm so happy that they do :-) ..I remember that you had bears..that could be scary..

So cool Nicholsworth! It’s been a decade since an owl was sighted here. I did see a coyote last summer in the evening, my small dogs are never outside alone despite a fenced yard. Hmmm..... I haven’t seen a rabbit for about two months, darn weird.

Sherry..I love seeing owls..they're so calm and beautiful..that's great that you're not seeing rabbits..yesterday my neighbor across the street told me she saw a big one in her backyard..

Beautiful beautiful birds! There are such a variety of them too, from the little screech Owl to the larger barn owls. Their flight is silent. I don’t get any alas........ sigh! 🦉
