Slowly Observing the Pruning

New Shoots on Spring Blooms were anywhere from 18-28+ in height when I did my late winter/2020 spring pruning. So after the 1st flush, I was sorta expecting similar if not more height in new growth so I took them down a bit after the 1st flush. In observing the new 2nd round, it did not grow out as high/as long as expected when I did the 1st deadhead....

Learning as I go , but for the 3rd flush or 4th flush (if I'm lucky with cooler fall temps), will the new growth for the same season continue peaking at a slower pace or with declining temps in summer/early fall, it may go up another 18-28.

Just trying to get clarity on how much to take down after each flush..
