I don't think I have ever seen an adansonii sold that didn't have holes in it already. The one I have when it gets new leaves, they unfurl with holes in them already. Can you post a picture? Are you sure it's adansonii?

Post a photo for sure, but juvenile M. adansonii plants don't have the holes in the leaves. They could be mistaken for a Philodendron.

Thanks for the responses. here Is a picture. For such a large plant it seems like there would be more fenestrations. Im not 100% sure It’s an adansonii. The label said it is. I also bought a cutting in the mail a few months back and the leaves minus the fenestrations look similar. As you can see one leaf has two holes. I haven’t had any leaves unfurl in its new environment either.

Well you are right, that does look like Adansonii. I have no idea why such few fenestrations. My adansonii is fairly juvenile and always puts out leaves with holes.

In any case, it looks healthy. Maybe you have a special one! I would just enjoy it as is. My adansonii doesn't look nearly as healthy. Puts out holey leave but isn't nearly as pretty as whatever you have!

just as Epipremnum aureum gets larger leaves when it climbs up , so does M. adansonii.

the vine itself needs to mature. when you make new cuttings they usually sprout new leaves without or with very few fenestrations.

i've growing M. adansonii from cuttings for several years and only some vines started showing holes. But if you buy a more mature plant you might have more holes from the start.
